Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Writegarden platform ("Service"). By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in account suspension or termination as described in our Terms of Service.

1. Intended Use

Writegarden is designed for legitimate business use: generating SEO-optimized content, conducting keyword research, and publishing articles to your owned web properties. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these guidelines.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not use the Service to generate, publish, or distribute content that:

  • Is illegal, fraudulent, or promotes illegal activities
  • Contains hate speech, discriminatory language, or incites violence against any person or group
  • Is defamatory, libelous, or constitutes harassment or bullying
  • Contains or promotes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or exploitation of minors
  • Infringes on third-party intellectual property rights when done knowingly or intentionally
  • Contains malware, phishing links, or other malicious code
  • Promotes dangerous products, substances, or activities without appropriate context and disclaimers
  • Constitutes medical, legal, or financial advice without proper professional qualifications and disclaimers
  • Is pornographic or sexually explicit in nature
  • Promotes terrorism, extremism, or radicalization
  • Includes images or other media you upload or insert by URL that you do not own or have a licence to use, or that otherwise infringes third-party intellectual property rights

3. Prohibited Activities

You may not engage in the following activities when using the Service:

3.1 Spam and Manipulative SEO

  • Mass-generating low-quality content solely for search engine manipulation
  • Creating content farms or private blog networks (PBNs) using AI-generated content
  • Generating doorway pages or cloaked content designed to manipulate search engine rankings
  • Automated mass-publishing without human review of each piece of content
  • Keyword stuffing or other deceptive SEO practices

3.2 Deceptive Practices

  • Presenting AI-generated content as human-written when legally required to disclose AI involvement (see our AI Disclosure Policy)
  • Using the Service to create fake reviews, testimonials, or endorsements
  • Impersonating other businesses, individuals, or brands
  • Generating misleading news articles or disinformation
  • Creating deepfake or manipulated content designed to deceive

3.3 Service Abuse

  • Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying AI models or prompts
  • Sharing account credentials with unauthorized individuals
  • Using automated scripts or bots to access the Service beyond normal API usage
  • Attempting to bypass rate limits, usage quotas, or subscription restrictions
  • Reselling or sublicensing access to the Service without authorization
  • Interfering with the Service's infrastructure, security, or other users' access

3.4 Data Misuse

  • Using the Service to collect, harvest, or process personal data of third parties without their consent
  • Inputting personal data of third parties (names, emails, addresses) into the content generation process without a lawful basis
  • Using the Service to profile individuals or make automated decisions about natural persons

4. Content Review Obligation

You are required to review all AI-generated content before publication. This includes:

  • Factual accuracy: Verify claims, statistics, and factual statements
  • Legal compliance: Ensure content complies with applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
  • Brand alignment: Confirm content aligns with your brand values and messaging
  • IP review: Check that content does not infringe on third-party intellectual property
  • Sensitivity check: Review for unintended bias, insensitive language, or cultural inappropriateness
  • AI disclosure: Where required by law, ensure appropriate disclosure of AI involvement is included

5. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any use of the Service that violates this AUP, report it to abuse@writegarden.com. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

6. Enforcement

We reserve the right to take the following actions in response to AUP violations:

  • Warning: For first-time or minor violations, we may issue a warning and request corrective action
  • Content removal: We may remove or disable access to content that violates this policy
  • Temporary suspension: We may temporarily suspend your account while investigating a violation
  • Permanent termination: For severe or repeated violations, we may permanently terminate your account
  • Legal action: In cases involving illegal activity, we may report violations to appropriate authorities

The severity of enforcement will be proportionate to the nature and impact of the violation. We will generally provide notice and an opportunity to remedy violations before account termination, except in cases involving clearly illegal content or imminent harm.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time to address new types of misuse or changes in applicable law. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such notification constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
