Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Writegarden uses cookies and similar technologies on the marketing website (writegarden.com) and the product application (app.writegarden.com). It is read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website operators. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage (collectively referred to as "cookies" in this policy) to provide and improve our Service.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Authentication: To keep you signed in and maintain your session
  • Preferences: To remember your settings and preferences (e.g., sidebar state, light/dark theme)
  • Security: To detect unauthorized access and protect your account and our web forms
  • Functionality: To enable core features of the Service

3. Types of Cookies We Use

3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the Service to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality. No consent is required for these cookies under the ePrivacy Directive.

3.3 Analytics Cookies

We currently do not use third-party analytics cookies. If we introduce analytics in the future, this policy will be updated and consent will be requested before any analytics cookie is set.

3.4 Marketing Cookies

We currently do not use marketing or advertising cookies. If we introduce such cookies in the future, this policy will be updated and your explicit consent will be required before any marketing cookie is set.

4.1 Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically find these in the "Options", "Settings", or "Preferences" menu of your browser. Note that disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using the Service.

4.2 Consent Management

When we introduce non-essential cookies, we will implement a consent management banner that allows you to selectively accept or reject cookie categories. You will be able to change your preferences at any time.

5. Third-Party Cookies

The Service currently does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Authentication cookies are set by Supabase as our authentication provider and are essential for the Service; these are first-party cookies set on our domain. When you submit a newsletter or contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile issues a short-lived token to verify the request is not automated; it does not track you across other websites. If any third-party integrations introduce cookies in the future, we will update this policy accordingly.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our cookie usage or for legal reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. If we introduce new categories of non-essential cookies, we will request your consent before setting them.
